Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Agriculture started its education by admitting students to the Horticulture and Animal Science Departments in the 1995-1996 academic year. It continues its education and research activities with a total of nine departments: Horticulture, Plant Protection, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering, Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural Structures and Irrigation, Field Crops, Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, and Animal Science.
Our Faculty of Agriculture has well-equipped laboratories where research, application and analysis on agricultural subjects are carried out, and in these laboratories, in addition to education and training activities, our University Scientific Research Projects, many scientific research projects supported by TÜBİTAK and R&D programs aimed at the needs of the agricultural and agriculture-based industrial sectors in the region. GE studies are also carried out. In addition, the Crop Production Research and Application Unit, which continues its activities in the Dardanos Campus under the Faculty of Agriculture Farm, the Animal Production Research and Application Unit and the Agricultural Machinery Research and Application Unit, which will continue its activities in Geyikli from now on, and the Faculty of Agriculture, which has been put into joint operation with Bozcaada Municipality as of 2019. We have four separate research-application areas, including the Agricultural Research and Application Office.
Our Faculty of Agriculture continues to serve our country and region uninterruptedly for a quarter of a century with its 95 faculty members, 77 of whom are faculty members, 20 administrative staff, approximately 2000 students and 4000 graduate Agricultural Engineers.
