The Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1992 by the decision of the Council of Ministers, according to Law no 3837 (21st additional article) and  published in the Official Gazette dated 11th July 1992.

In the Academic Year of 1995-1996, the education started with the registration of students to the departments of  Horticulture and Animal Sciences. The education was conducted in Yahya Çavuş Campus in Üvecik for two years, then in  Vocational College in Terzioğlu Campus in the Academic Year of 1997-1998. Now the education has been continuing in its own building in the main Terzioğlu Campus since 2001-2002.

The number of instructors and students has increased significantly in  a very short time since 1995. The faculty has graduated 81 students from the Department of Horticulture and 83 students from  Animal Sciences of total 164 Agriculture Engineers  since 1998-1999.

Like in the other Faculties of Agriculture, it has been intended to implement reconstruction activities  in the Faculty of Agriculture in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University since the Academic Year of 1999-2000. In that Academic Year, the programs of Plant Production and Animal Production were established, and in 2001-2002 Academic Year, the program of Agricultural Mechanisation was also set up. The Department of Landscaping is going to be established in very near future too.
